Giving Tuesday is an annual global movement that encourages people to come together and give back to their communities. It is a day to celebrate generosity and support the causes that matter most to us. Giving Tuesday is important because it reminds us that we can all make a difference, no matter how big or small our contributions may be.

Community and service are at the center of everything at Kinney, Fernandez & Boire. Since 2009, one of our philanthropic outreach projects has included partnering with Make-A-Wish to grant the wishes of over 50 children suffering from life-threatening illnesses in our Tampa Bay community. Recently, Marcus Fernandez, a Make-A-Wish of Southern Florida “Wish Granter,” granted a kind and outgoing 4-year-old boy’s dream come true.

Wish Granters traditionally meet with each Wish Kid and their family to learn about each child. Then, they help identify their wish and locate the resources to make their dream come true. This time it was Mason, a 4-year-old with a heart condition who enjoys making his little brother laugh and loves Super Mario & Disney.

Mason’s LA Super Adventure

Even at such a young age, Mason has already overcome so much, but when you look at him all you see is a young boy who plays with his toys and loves being outside with his family. It’s what makes him happiest. Mason’s wish adventure started with a wish reveal at a local ice cream shop, Chill Bros. It was there that he found out he and his family would be taking an adventure to LA to visit Super Mario World at Universal Studios Hollywood.

During their time on the west coast, Mason and his family were able to enjoy all the fun things that this brand-new theme park had to offer. From Mario Kart rides to a Toad-inspired restaurant and all the merchandise you can stock up on, there was no shortage of smiles. There were even some special guest appearances with two of Mason’s favorite characters, Mario and Luigi.

It’s kids and families like Mason’s that inspire us daily. Our mission, as members of this Tampa Bay community, is to enrich the lives of children and provide them with the tools to empower future generations. KFB Law’s Community Action Plan is about helping kids, just like Mason, move forward with happier, healthier lives.

We all have the power to make a positive impact on the world around us, on Giving Tuesday, during the holiday season, or any day of the year.
